January Is Feline Wellness Month

Industry research has shown a disturbing trend of declining feline visits to veterinary clinincs in spite of increasing feline pet ownership in the United States. This can be attributed to a variety of reasons including; the economy, doctor Google, and the increasing awareness and presence of internet pharmacies. Many people think that because their cat doesn't go outdoors it doesn't need to come to the veterinarian.

We are making an effort to increase our clients awareness of the importance of feline wellness care.  More important than the vaccines is the annual physical exam. Your veterinarian can pick up a myriad of ailments on the physical exam.  Many of these issues can be eliminated or mitigated with an early diagnosis and proper care.  Wellness labwork screening can bring to light other issues that may not be apparent on the physical exam.  Remember if your kitty goes to the doctor once yearly its like you going to the doctor every seven years.
